If
you search other sites for our books using each book's unique book number, the
"ISBN," you may want to note the following changes.
The
publishing industry is transitioning to a 13-digit ISBN standard, so that each
book will have its own 13-digit number rather than the previous 10-digit standard.
All
ISBNs will be prefixed with 978; also, most ISBNs will have a different final
digit (the "check digit").
Below is our chart of
10-digit and 13-digit ISBNs. We will start to cite the 13-digit ISBNs in our communications.
(Note that the 13-digit number is already set within the bar code on the back
of our books.) For more information on the ISBN-13 numbering standard, vist http://www.bisg.org/isbn-13/.
If
you order directly from Dorset House, don't worry about this conversionwe'll
know what book you mean! Please e-mail isbn@dorsethouse.com
